Blinded by the Light

We are in a very interesting time in our history on this planet. I’ve been pondering the wheat and the tares growing up together. I’ve also been doing some research into why people would believe certain things, what the foundation of various beliefs are.

I thought that satanists and luciferians were the same thing. I was wrong. Now don’t get me wrong, all of these other roads ultimately lead to worship of satan himself because they are all set apart from the truth which is Christ Jesus Our Lord. So whatever name they give to their god or higher power, it is actually satan.

But I just wasn’t understanding why so many people would choose satan knowingly.

Here’s how Wikipedia defines luciferianism: “Luciferianism is a belief system that venerates the essential characteristics that are affixed to Lucifer. The tradition, influenced by Gnosticism, usually reveres Lucifer not as the devil, but as a liberator, a guardian or guiding spirit, or even the true god as opposed to Jehovah.

It made more sense to me when I saw this definition. I see how so many can be blinded by the light, the light that defined lucifer. His name means angel of light or light bearer. And the Bible says that he can come in such a form even now.

Deception is the foundation of the game that he plays with humanity. So, many of these people, I believe, honestly think they are serving a righteous being meant for the betterment of all.

Are we reflecting the True Light of the World, Jesus Christ? Are we different in the way we live our lives? Are we the salt that makes them thirsty and open to taking a drink, the kind of drink where they will never thirst again?

Something to ponder, my dear friends.

Who Am I Talking To?

Have you ever known that you are exactly where you are supposed to be yet at the same time have a keen awareness that you are getting ready to be absolutely catapulted into something new and fresh? I’m talking to somebody today. Is it you?

I know unequivocally that I am exactly where I’m supposed to be but it is not where I am going to stay for very long.

How many of you know that boldness offends many? How many of you know that many in the Bible including Jesus, offended many in their day? Kevin Zadai has a good message on YouTube about this right now. A prophet is without honor amongst his own people and culture; the Word is clear.

I am so excited and encouraged when I look at the failings of those in Scripture and how God turned them into His mouth pieces, proclaiming loudly the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He has to clean us up, clean us out and get us to the point where we are fully relying on Him before He can use us to the fullest extent He has planned since before He laid the foundations of this world. Yes, God wrote your story long, long ago. I love in the book of Job where God reminds Job that he was with Him in heaven long before he ever came to Earth (not clear in all translations). I also love the part of Job’s story where he says that even though God slay him, he will still serve Him. Even Job’s wife telling him to just curse God and die does not dissuade this true servant’s heart.

My spirit repeatedly welled up today. It was so difficult to contain. So much of the church is pretending. I won’t say a whole lot more at this time about this. But I will say that God calls us to come out from among the world and be separate, that He calls us salt and light and that everyone that I’m aware of in Scripture that Jesus called, He did so publicly. And when Peter, who had denied even knowing Jesus multiple times, came into the fullness of ministry and the point of martyrdom, he was bold with the fire of the Holy Ghost in him and on him. John the Baptist was thought a lunatic as he cried out in the wilderness to prepare the way of the Lord.

I am so tired of performance in my own life and in the lives of those around me. I’d rather be counted with the likes of Peter, John the Baptist, Job and John, the disciple that Jesus loved.

If Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life and He is the Word who was made flesh and dwelt among us and the scripture is a two edged sword, then how do we think we can walk on the fence and accomplish our mission and be pleasing to the Lord? Nay, I say by the power of the Holy Ghost and in agreement with the Word, that God will spew out of His mouth the church and individual that rides on the fence. Turn up the heat to purge this out and stir up the gift of the Holy Ghost within you today! Delay is not an option. Time is limited on this Earth.

One final thought… trying to fit in and please others only left me heartbroken with no one in the crowd to rely on. I would rather stand with Jesus who has never failed me and is consistent and steady always.

The Original Bully – The Sequel

As I was composing the previous post, the cat featured as the attacker in that photo who weighs about 9 pounds was repeatedly chasing and attacking the just over 16 pound cat and harassing him until he was crying out.

I called out to him, without response. He remained engaged with the attacker as opposed to escaping and coming for help. How often do we have such a warped response? We cozy up and think we can make some sort of peace treaty with the devil. Then, true to his fallen nature, he attacks us relentlessly until we cry out in pain and anguish. Do we remember to cry out to Christ? Do we run to him for safety or continue in the antics in the busyness that stop us from knowing who we truly are or at least are created to be?

The Bible clearly says that if we have God in us, then we have the one who is greater than satan who is in this world. The scripture also says that we are in the world but not of it. Are we rising above the trickery and deceit or are we content in the mire?

ARISE [from the depression and prostration in which circumstances have kept you–rise to a new life]! Shine (be radiant with the glory of the Lord), for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you! [Zech. 8:23.]
Isaiah 60:1 AMPC

God has made a way of escape through the Salvation and Solace of His Son Jesus Christ. Accept him today by confessing that you are a sinner, asking for forgiveness and that He would save you and become the Lord of your life. If you already know Him, remember your true identity and stop giving up ground to the evil one. You and I are loved beyond what we can possibly comprehend while in our mortal bodies.

Be blessed today!

The Original Bully

Just like one of my cats in the photo thinks she’s slick, hiding and ready to pounce on a passerby, so is the original bully, the devil.

He reminds me of practitioner of domestic violence, who will seem nice and appear light and carefree until you don’t go along with his or her plan. Then that person begins to spew venom and may attack through other means as well.

So too, the devil, seems like he’s rewarding those who go along with all of his schemes and plans in this world. But their day will come when they will see who he truly is in the end. Those of us who take a stand now, know all too well of the fiery darts he shoots our way.

He doesn’t have devices that we are ignorant of, says the Bible. If we stay close to our Older Brother, Jesus Christ, and put on the full armor of God, the Word is clear that we can withstand every attack (Ephesians 6, beginning in verse 10).

God is not willing that any of us, His precious creation made in His image, should perish but come to eternal life through Jesus Christ, His only begotten Son (John 3:16) that came and was sacrificed on our behalf, to wash away the stain of our sin and remove the chasm between us. So, run into the cleft of The Rock and be saved from the bully who would love nothing more than to drag you into hell along with him where you will never see your Heavenly Father again.

In the World, Not of the World

I was originally going to write this post from the perspective of being in church and around the Lord but not being filled and changed or consumed by Him, much as the log in the photo merely has the flame licking around it but is not penetrated by it. However, this is taking a different turn.

I was thinking about Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego from Daniel chapter 3 in the Bible and how they were bound and fell into the flames of the fiery furnace even as their attendants who were supposed to throw them in perished simply from the heat emanating from the furnace. They were in the government circles of that day but unchanged in their principles even when they knew that God was able to save them from the flame but did not know whether or not he would.

They didn’t bow to a literal idol nor bend to the will of a king. They didn’t do whatever it took to fit in or be promoted. They stood firm and saw the salvation of the Lord as He met with them in the fire, rescuing them from the binding restraints of the world. They came through unscathed and unscented by the fire or smoke. Their faith and testimony caused the king to worship the true God.

The Luxury of Lies?

Power is within, apart from any god. In fact you are your own god. You are good enough on your own. Money and success are all that matter. You earn the respect of others by trampling the weak. To win at all costs is admirable. Only the strong survive. It’s all about me. Morality is relative as it suits your needs and promotes your interests. These are just a few of the lies we are faced with in this world on a daily basis.

The scripture tells us that in our weakness God’s strength is made perfect and that apart from Him we can do nothing. It teaches that our very breath comes from Him and Him alone. It says that we are the branches and that we must stay connected to the Vine, Jesus.

The scripture also teaches that every good and perfect gift comes from above. It also talks about the consistency of God, stating clearly that with God there is no shadow of turning and that He is the same yesterday, today and forever.

Self-reliance is a foolish endeavor; and moral relativism leaves people lost in the sea without any compass or as a ship without a rudder. Folks if we don’t have a map and a compass, how do we know where we’re headed?

If we live without intentionality, I submit to you that we will proverbially bang into the walls of life and end up with nothing but bruises to show for it and no treasure laid up in Heaven where moth and decay cannot harm.

For those of us that embrace the scriptures as absolute truth, we do know where those who are rudderless, without map or compass are headed. They are headed for eternal damnation, a separation from their Loving Creator. That should wake us up! See, they don’t know where they are going and may think that life is one big party or something that can be relived innumerable times in various forms because false teachings have taken root and fooled them.

Another level of sobering thought for us, is how much the world and the satanic have infiltrated the churches. Certainly there are people who are wolves in sheep’s clothing coming in to devour the flock. But there are also things called Angel boards and decks of cards that are no more than cleaned up versions of Ouija boards and tarot cards.

It’s time to pray for our children, our neighbors, our coworkers and take a stand. I liked what Bobby Conner said and I’ll paraphrase. When talking about how we need to say what we believe and not apologize for it, he basically questioned: are we going to scare them (by speaking the Truth) into Hell 1 or Hell 2? His point was that if we are not boldly declaring the truth of salvation, people will be lost. There’s not a minor Hell and a major Hell. There’s just hell! There’s just lost people who are on their way to never experiencing Love!

We have to be The Counter Culture, part of a kingdom upside down that simply does things completely opposite of how this world functions. You can win the praise of man or the approval of God, but not both for very long.

When I was thinking about the fact that we are living in the last days and the nitty-gritty of it all and that we have to decide if we are going to follow the current of the world or take a stand, I began to think about the realities of needing to determine ahead of time my level of commitment.

I don’t think I will ever forget hearing J.J. Bittenbinder speak over 30 years ago now on television. He had been a detective and was saying that you have to determine ahead of time what you are willing to do to fight off an attacker. He made it clear that if you go to a secondary scene, it is very likely you will be murdered and he suggested the example of determining if you are willing to reach in behind your attacker’s eyeballs and pull them out of socket.

This got me thinking about Samson who had compromised and lost all of his strength and who at the end of his days had his eyes poked out, was bound and mocked by his enemies. It took his physical eyes being gouged and him being blinded for his spiritual eyes to be opened. He asked for one more dispensation of God’s grace in the form of physical strength so that he could take out the enemy.

We are in a war, the most epic that has ever been. Whose side are you on?

I Miss You

God showed me that He is so sad and grieved because He misses YOU! John, Lue, DeAndre, fill in your name please. He misses you.

If you’re slamming drugs into your physical life source… If you’re on the streets looking for love…If you’re a man loving another man or a woman loving another woman, He loves you and wants you to talk to Him. Turn around. He’s right there.

You may have forgotten ever knowing Him; but He knows your name, Shaun.

The names written in here were not picked by me. I don’t know who God is talking to…calling out to; but I hope it’s you.
