Are You Baptized?

How often do you think about the Holy Spirit? What do you believe about the gifts of the Spirit? I’d like to revisit the second chapter of Acts.

AND WHEN the day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all assembled together in one place, When suddenly there came a sound from heaven like the rushing of a violent tempest blast, and it filled the whole house in which they were sitting. And there appeared to them tongues resembling fire, which were separated and distributed and which settled on each one of them. And they were all filled (diffused throughout their souls) with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other (different, foreign) languages (tongues), as the Spirit kept giving them clear and loud expression [in each tongue in appropriate words].

Some say that this gift is not for today. Some say that the Spirit will only give you utterance to speak in a foreign Earthly language as referenced in this passage. Some acknowledge that you may be speaking in a Heavenly language that is unknown here on the Earth. I’ve even had some individuals claim that it is satanic to speak in unknown tongues. I’m sure that since he mimics God so much, he probably has some version of tongues.

We use the term baptized in the Holy Spirit or Holy Ghost in the church oftentimes with the evidence of speaking in tongues. To be baptized is to be all in, completely immersed, evidence of being decided.

The Holy Spirit is the one that gives us power to stand, to overcome. I know that many of us were raised in various denominations. But I challenged us to go directly to the Word of God rather than the tenets of men.

God wants to give us good gifts, the best gift of all is Himself. The Holy Ghost is part of the triune God of the Bible. What would cause us to reject the gift that He is trying to give us of Himself?

I would encourage you that strength comes more and more as you activate the gifts of the Spirit. It says in the Bible that the Spirit prays and groans. He knows what we need and can express in a way that doesn’t get circumvented in the logic of our mind as we speak in our own Earthly native tongue. When we pray and praise using the gift of tongues, we are infused with His power, given strength for the day and more aptly armored for the battles that we are facing.

Please don’t turn his gift away.
