Who Am I Talking To?

Have you ever known that you are exactly where you are supposed to be yet at the same time have a keen awareness that you are getting ready to be absolutely catapulted into something new and fresh? I’m talking to somebody today. Is it you?

I know unequivocally that I am exactly where I’m supposed to be but it is not where I am going to stay for very long.

How many of you know that boldness offends many? How many of you know that many in the Bible including Jesus, offended many in their day? Kevin Zadai has a good message on YouTube about this right now. A prophet is without honor amongst his own people and culture; the Word is clear.

I am so excited and encouraged when I look at the failings of those in Scripture and how God turned them into His mouth pieces, proclaiming loudly the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He has to clean us up, clean us out and get us to the point where we are fully relying on Him before He can use us to the fullest extent He has planned since before He laid the foundations of this world. Yes, God wrote your story long, long ago. I love in the book of Job where God reminds Job that he was with Him in heaven long before he ever came to Earth (not clear in all translations). I also love the part of Job’s story where he says that even though God slay him, he will still serve Him. Even Job’s wife telling him to just curse God and die does not dissuade this true servant’s heart.

My spirit repeatedly welled up today. It was so difficult to contain. So much of the church is pretending. I won’t say a whole lot more at this time about this. But I will say that God calls us to come out from among the world and be separate, that He calls us salt and light and that everyone that I’m aware of in Scripture that Jesus called, He did so publicly. And when Peter, who had denied even knowing Jesus multiple times, came into the fullness of ministry and the point of martyrdom, he was bold with the fire of the Holy Ghost in him and on him. John the Baptist was thought a lunatic as he cried out in the wilderness to prepare the way of the Lord.

I am so tired of performance in my own life and in the lives of those around me. I’d rather be counted with the likes of Peter, John the Baptist, Job and John, the disciple that Jesus loved.

If Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life and He is the Word who was made flesh and dwelt among us and the scripture is a two edged sword, then how do we think we can walk on the fence and accomplish our mission and be pleasing to the Lord? Nay, I say by the power of the Holy Ghost and in agreement with the Word, that God will spew out of His mouth the church and individual that rides on the fence. Turn up the heat to purge this out and stir up the gift of the Holy Ghost within you today! Delay is not an option. Time is limited on this Earth.

One final thought… trying to fit in and please others only left me heartbroken with no one in the crowd to rely on. I would rather stand with Jesus who has never failed me and is consistent and steady always.

The Original Bully – The Sequel

As I was composing the previous post, the cat featured as the attacker in that photo who weighs about 9 pounds was repeatedly chasing and attacking the just over 16 pound cat and harassing him until he was crying out.

I called out to him, without response. He remained engaged with the attacker as opposed to escaping and coming for help. How often do we have such a warped response? We cozy up and think we can make some sort of peace treaty with the devil. Then, true to his fallen nature, he attacks us relentlessly until we cry out in pain and anguish. Do we remember to cry out to Christ? Do we run to him for safety or continue in the antics in the busyness that stop us from knowing who we truly are or at least are created to be?

The Bible clearly says that if we have God in us, then we have the one who is greater than satan who is in this world. The scripture also says that we are in the world but not of it. Are we rising above the trickery and deceit or are we content in the mire?

ARISE [from the depression and prostration in which circumstances have kept you–rise to a new life]! Shine (be radiant with the glory of the Lord), for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you! [Zech. 8:23.]

God has made a way of escape through the Salvation and Solace of His Son Jesus Christ. Accept him today by confessing that you are a sinner, asking for forgiveness and that He would save you and become the Lord of your life. If you already know Him, remember your true identity and stop giving up ground to the evil one. You and I are loved beyond what we can possibly comprehend while in our mortal bodies.

Be blessed today!

The Original Bully

Just like one of my cats in the photo thinks she’s slick, hiding and ready to pounce on a passerby, so is the original bully, the devil.

He reminds me of practitioner of domestic violence, who will seem nice and appear light and carefree until you don’t go along with his or her plan. Then that person begins to spew venom and may attack through other means as well.

So too, the devil, seems like he’s rewarding those who go along with all of his schemes and plans in this world. But their day will come when they will see who he truly is in the end. Those of us who take a stand now, know all too well of the fiery darts he shoots our way.

He doesn’t have devices that we are ignorant of, says the Bible. If we stay close to our Older Brother, Jesus Christ, and put on the full armor of God, the Word is clear that we can withstand every attack (Ephesians 6, beginning in verse 10).

God is not willing that any of us, His precious creation made in His image, should perish but come to eternal life through Jesus Christ, His only begotten Son (John 3:16) that came and was sacrificed on our behalf, to wash away the stain of our sin and remove the chasm between us. So, run into the cleft of The Rock and be saved from the bully who would love nothing more than to drag you into hell along with him where you will never see your Heavenly Father again.
